JOB TITLE: Health Aide (30-35hrs/wk.) FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
Overall responsibility for the designated child or children in accordance to the Individual Education Program.
TASKS, SKILLS AND DUTIES
- Works closely with Health Coordinator, school district, and/or health professional.
- Works specifically with a designated child with a health condition according to the Individual Health Program (IHP).
- Keeps a daily log of child's activities containing only facts not opinion.
- Works only when the specific child with health condition is present.
- Work hours may vary according to the child's need stated in the IHP.
- Center director supervises the Health Aide's task.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Ability to record data pertinent to Head Start Performance Standards.
SKILLS: Must have a warm, supportive, pleasant and positive attitude toward young children and parents. Must be reliable. Ability to communicate and function with various professionals and community groups. Able to carry out directions and instructions. Bilingual skills are encouraged.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
OTHER: Must have a TB test. Professional in manner and attire. No record of a conviction which would contraindicate employment. Must have a valid Class C Driver's License and a reliable vehicle with current vehicle liability insurance; insurable under HCCAA's vehicle insurance policy.

Other special conditions: Work only when child is present. Will be trained on specific duties by the Health Coordinator and/or other health professional in the specific area of health. Comply with all HCCAA Policies, and maintain confidentiality of all phases of agency operations.
