Prepare meals and coordinate kitchen and mealtime activities in accordance with Center guidelines.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain current knowledge of and prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and established health, safety and portion control regulations and procedures.
  2. Assure meals are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  3. Utilize and coordinate residents and/or volunteers in meal preparation, kitchen and dining room duties.
  4. Assist in budgeting and purchasing functions; monitor and maintain adequate inventory of food and supplies.
  5. Store food properly in a safe and sanitary fashion.
  6. Assure that adequate levels of supplies and food are maintained.
  7. Coordinate and assist in daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen and dining room.
  8. Monitor kitchen and dining room for safety issues and equipment needs; report hazards immediately to supervisor.
  9. Assist in food preparation for special events and parties.

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Successful completion of ServSafe training 

 

Experience

  • One year experience working in a commercial or institution kitchen.
