KERRVILLE - CITY OF Water Production Operator in KERRVILLE, Texas

[**[Job Summary: [[Responsible for the operations of the surface water, ground water, and aquifer storage and recovery facilities.

  1. Operate the treatment plant by processing, monitoring and controlling the treatment process; calibration of instrumentation, handling hazardous materials, keeping records and routine testing of water quality and chemical residuals.
  2. Perform routine maintenance by providing assistance to maintenance personnel on scheduled and emergency maintenance procedures. Maintain buildings and grounds.
  3. Operate production facilities by operating municipal water wells and disinfection equipment and flushing the well.
  4. Operate booster stations and storage locations by facilitating proper distribution, providing adequate storage of water and using the SCADA system to maintain water levels and pressures.
  5. Operate the aquifer storage and recovery system by maintaining control of the system, deciding rates of injection of stored water, analyzing stored water quality and gathering and recording data.
  6. Work under close direction of a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) licensed operator during training period; attend training sessions, and other duties directed by the supervisor.
  7. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

  • Ability to seek and acquire certification, training or license as required by federal or state laws or as required by the division to perform and maintain functions and duties of the Water Production Division.
  • Ability to work a designated non-rotating shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

  • Hand tools, power saw, drills, chain saw, ladder, tractor, paint brush, piping.
  • Ear protection, eye protection, gloves, respirator, safety vest, rubber boots.

Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License.
