American Homes 4 Rent Senior Manager, Asset Management Intelligence - (Hybrid) in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Senior Manager, Asset Management Intelligence leverages data-driven insights to optimize the performance of AMH’s property portfolio and supports strategic decision-making within the Asset Management team. By utilizing advanced analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI and proficiently querying databases, facilitates the creation of informative dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into property performance, market trends, and investment opportunities. Plays a pivotal role in collaborating with internal stakeholders by influencing decision-making processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives in data analytics practices. Identifies and recommends solutions, practices, and innovative techniques which aligns with strategic business initiatives. Anticipates market changes/trends and meets company financial goals. Assists in training users on reporting tools. Develops policy and strategy implementation for short-term results.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily activities of the asset management team and department operations. Provides leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively to achieve departmental objectives. Ensures adherence to established policies, procedures, and best practices by team members, clients, and stakeholders. Identifies opportunities for process refinement and implements procedural enhancements to drive improved outcomes and facilitate organizational change. Sets strategic direction for the team and translates senior management's strategic initiatives into actionable plans. Manages resources effectively to ensure tasks are completed within allocated budgets and timelines. Works closely with asset management team leaders and key stakeholders to establish policies, standards, and data-driven solutions aimed at enhancing property portfolio performance and decision-making processes. Actively involved in identifying and resolving issues, refining existing reporting packages, and introducing innovative features to optimize operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the asset management function.

  • Develops frameworks and standard operating procedures to streamline data-related processes including data acquisition, enrichment, correction, access, cataloging, migrations, and environment monitoring. Additionally, orchestrates job monitoring and coordination to ensure seamless data operations and reporting efficiency.

  • Develops and standardizes database reports tailored to meet customer specifications and requests, leveraging SQL for data extraction and analysis to pinpoint areas for enhancement. Provides support to customers utilizing reporting tools, aiding in data extraction and collection to address their business objectives effectively.

  • Builds and manages relationships with vendors, ensures that contractual obligations are met, and work product is of high quality.

    Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, Information Systems and/or related preferred.

  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience working with Business Intelligence, Analytics, Financial Reporting Data Warehousing technologies, and/or related required.

  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience managing a department with direct reports.

  • Experience mentoring a team to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, career planning, and training opportunities.

  • Advanced experience gathering and business analysis techniques required; must have a complete understanding of business intelligence development life cycle including the ability to conduct interviews and gather the needs for desired outcomes for the Business Intelligence solutions being built.

  • Intermediate experience developing and maintaining relational databases (SQL Server preferred), data modeling, integrations, and business intelligence tools required. (Tableau, Power BI).

  • Intermediate experience with domain-driven architectures and cloud technologies (Azure) preferred.

  • Expertise in building Tableau or Power BI dashboards, with a strong portfolio demonstrating previous work.

  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in querying and manipulating large datasets.

  • Knowledge of Databricks or similar big data processing platforms.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and drive change through data-driven insights.

  • Experience working with stakeholders in asset management and acquisitions/dispositions preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis, time management and organizational skills.

  • Critical thinking is a must. Problem solving skills with the ability to look for root causes and implementable, workable solutions, as well as process improvement ability.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility/adaptability, ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

  • Willingness and ability to take a proactive leadership role on projects.
