Position Overview

The qualified candidate will be safety-minded, self-motivated, and enthusiastic individual. The ideal candidate will be people oriented and inspire their team to achieve shared goals. Primary responsibilities will be to monitor and manage the health of their team and the projects assigned to them. This position will also require effective communication & collaboration with operations, estimating, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Write correspondence letters, compile and review submittal information, and manage all other necessary documents so that the project can begin and function properly.
Schedule pre-job meetings and progress meetings both internally and externally.
Assist and support Superintendent and Foremen, as needed.
Review job quantities, approve invoices & subcontractor payments, prepare extra work change orders and monitor job cost.
Monitor daily job cost and report monthly projected revenue and cost.
Initiate change orders, extra works, and claim notifications.
Review, tabulate, and negotiate final quantity agreements with owner and/or clients to ensure 100% payment for all work performed.
Review monthly account receivables and cash aging reports.
Responsible for project yields
Performs other job-related responsibilities and special projects as requested.


Other Requirements:
Involvement in OCA, ODOT, and Community functions. Attend training and safety classes, as necessary.
Must possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
Must have ability to work effectively in a high pressure, multi-tasking environment, drive projects forward and meet or exceed deliverables.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Limited travel and the ability to work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Create and maintain customer relationships.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.
Strict adherence to Hinkle Contracting Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience

At least two to three year's experience in a similar position preferred but not required. Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of paving and construction is preferred. Knowledge of job costing and estimating techniques. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Viewpoint and HCSS estimating software is preferred. Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with management, team members, vendors and internal and external customers.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
