Oscoda County 23rd District Court Juvenile Register/Trial Court Clerk in Mio, Michigan

Juvenile Register/Trial Court Clerk for the 23^rd^ Circuit Trial Court, Oscoda County, 105 S. Court Street, Mio, Michigan.  A full-time union position with a starting pay of $15.37 an hour, and Oscoda County fringe benefit package to include health insurance, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement benefits through Municipal Employees Retirement System (MERS).

This position is under the general direction of the Trial Court Administrator and Presiding Judge.  Juvenile Register/Trial Court Clerk is responsible all matters pertaining to Juvenile Court matter, ensuring that Juvenile Division files comply with AO 1985-5, Section II, providing clerical support for Juvenile Office, scheduling, noticing and maintenance of Juvenile Court documents, data entry, review of files prior to court proceedings to ensure files are prepared for court. 

 

Typical Duties -- Juvenile Register/Clerk:

  • Schedule, notice and maintain Juvenile Court docket for all juvenile delinquency, neglect abuse, and adoption matters. 
  • Required data entry for scheduling, noticing and maintenance of Juvenile docket.
  • Creating and maintaining cases/matters that need to be monitored for future court/counsel action.

``` - Prepare court forms, case related documents, correspondence, and reports. - Receive and receipt filing fees, fines, court costs, restitution, and other court ordered monies. - Process requests for case information, court records, court policies and procedures, and other public information. - Receive, monitor, screen and respond to all inquiries (written, verbal, electronic, telephonic) with regard to Juvenile matters. - Print and distribute dockets for Juvenile matters. - Maintain all duties related to collection and distribution of mail addressed to the Juvenile department. - Monitor, distribute and process all Juvenile Court documents signed by Presiding Judge. - Uses digital audio and video electronic recording equipment, including use of an interactive video system, to record all domestic matters as well as coordinate Zoom for Juvenile matters. - Operates computer terminal to enter, access and modify case information on the state Judicial Information System. - Prepare weekly deposits and transmittals to the County Treasurer. - Cross trains with other Trial Court Clerks to provide backup coverage. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Court Administrator or Presiding Judge.

Typical Duties -- Trial Court Clerk

  • Maintain court records in compliance with MCR 8.119, state standards, and other applicable Court Rules.
  • Process case files in compliance with Case File Management Standards.
  • Open, maintain, and close court files.
  • Operate computer terminal to enter, access, and modify case information.
  • Review files prior to court proceedings to ensure files are prepared for court.
  • Prepare court forms, case related documents, correspondence, and reports.
  • Receive and receipt filing fees, fines, court costs, restitution, and other court ordered monies.
  • Process requests for case information, court records, court policies and procedures, and other public information.
  • Prepare daily deposits and transmittals to the County Treasurer.
  • Responsible for recording all court proceedings in accordance with state standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Court Administrator or Presiding Judge.
