Welch Packaging General Labor/Production Associate in Romulus, Michigan

Title: General Labor/Production Associate

Pay: Starting at $16/HR

Shift: M-F, 6am-2:30pm. Overtime available on Tues, Wed, Thurs and Saturdays

Requirements:

Preferred 2+ yrs in a manufacturing environment

Must be able to stand on feet 8-10 hours a day

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throught the day.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and communicate with team members. Could be subject to standing or walking for extended periods of time. The employee frequently is required to use hands, reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Description:

  • Follows all safety procedures associated with machine center •Prepares bottom and top sheets for units, prints load tags •Responsible for unitization per customer specification •Understands and participates as required in quality checks •Work at pace set by the machine operator to achieve conformance to production schedule •Read and follow shop order instructions •Troubleshoot problems throughout production run •Comply with all company policies and procedures •Maintains high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in work area
  • Other duties as assigned

• Previous experience in a manufacturing / production environment • Proven ability to work SAFELY adhering to all safety processes and policies • Ability to work a flexible schedule on occasion to support operational and business     needs • Ability to work either individually or in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
