This person needs to have very good communication skills. This person will have to be able to lead plant maintenance staff including planners, plant mechanics, as well as providing influence across departments and management groups. This person needs to have a strong technical background, able to answer the "How do we prevent this from happening again" question, have Continuous Improvement as a personal core value, understand asset care strategies, and component failure analysis. They also need to have a strong background with CMMS and budget tools preferable SAP. This role will own our 90-day plan process across the maintenance department, building strategy to create and sustain reliability and budgetary gains across the plant with a top loss approach. Principal Accountabilities 30% - Responsible for the execution of the Maintenance departments 90-day plan, reliability data, coaching, and tracking of results. 20% - Develops a competent and efficient Maintenance Department workforce. Assures personnel have the training, tools, supplies, and materials required for performing maintenance services. 20% - Strategic Planning - Develops, recommends, and reviews long-term strategies for expense and capital initiatives relating to the Maintenance Department and the successful operation of the plant. Key to the development of the strategic capital and savings plan for the facility. 20% - Driving and owning the failure analysis process across the Maintenance department. Determining root causes of major failures, developing action plans, long term solutions, and be able to follow up on open actions through completion. 10% - Department Budgeting - Be an active participant in controlling expense budgets for the Maintenance Department. Actively helps manage use of labor and materials to optimize department effectiveness. Job Complexity At the beginning of each fiscal quarter, we pull the reliability data from the last 90 days. We then separate this data into top loss buckets and build plans around improving and or eliminating these losses over the course of the next 90 days. Through the quarter we have check in meetings to track progress and assign help as needed to meet our goals by the quarters end. Achieving these goals is the primary responsibility of our Reliability Engineer and their team. Required Qualifications Minimum education required High school diploma, GED 5 years of experience in a plant-based reliability leadership role Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors of Science degree; Engineering degree strongly preferred CMRP, Lubrication, PMP, or RCA certifications SAP CMMS and budget tool, technical leadership experience Superior listening skills Process minded problem-solving skills Experience in a plant production environment, preferably, food processing or pharmaceutical Strong people and rel
